Our Grange celebrated Thanksgiving with our annual turkey dinner. After the meal, we discussed the community outreach that our members had provided during 2016, including cold weather knitted items for school children, Red Cross blood donations, Salvation Army bell ringing, and Christmas present wrapping for designated families. A silent auction of donated items and foods brought in several hundred dollars for the treasury, which will be used for more outreach this year.
Due to bad weather, the annual Christmas potluck supper was small but still a success. Juniors were presented with small gifts in Santa's absence. We enjoyed the gathering in a warm and cozy Lake Edward Township Hall.
The next community service will be in February, a Red Cross blood donation date. We look forward to hosting the August 11-13 Grange Jamboree Family Camp at Lake Hubert Grange Hall!
