The 150th Annual Session of the National Grange was held in Washington D.C. The State Grange of Minnesota was honored to have five Grangers represent our state. Sisters Donna Champion and Ann Bercher and Brothers T.J. Malaskee, Matt Cranston and Bob Quist attended this historic event.
The chief business of National Session was the adoption of many resolutions, the elections of Brothers Duane Scott (WI) and Leroy Watson (NH) to their previously held Executive Committee seats, and Sisters Christine Hamp (WA) and Brenda Rousselle (VT) to the positions of Lecturer and Lady Assistant Steward, respectively.
Brother T.J. Malaskee served on the Grange Law Committee and was part of a group who researched Grange records and historical documents, deciding that though Sister Caroline Hall was instrumental in the early leadership of the Grange, titling her as the "Eighth Founder of the Grange" is inaccurate and a misinterpretation of actions of history and taken by the National Grange Delegate Body and the Assembly of Dimeter.
